Held in even years, this international fair brings together the latest machine tools and technologies from leading makers worldwide.
For anyone considering a CNC automatic lathe, it is the best chance to compare the newest models side by side.

MECT (Mechatronics Technology Japan)
One of Central Japan's largest specialized machine tool shows. It is held in odd years, so there is no edition in 2026, but it alternates with JIMTOF as one of the two key domestic shows.
The next edition, MECT2027, has been officially announced for October 20–23, 2027 at Port Messe Nagoya (exhibitor applications open November 2, 2026).
See the MECT guide for details.
Other Shows Worth Knowing
Combined shows such as the Mechanical Components Expo
Shows like Manufacturing World bundle several specialized exhibitions (components, machining technology, factory equipment) and are held in Tokyo and other regions.
They are convenient when you want to see peripherals, measurement and automation together with machine tools. Check the organizer's site for regional dates.
Regional metalworking and manufacturing shows
Regional shows are held across Japan, each with its own character. They are easy to reach and leave time for detailed discussions, so look for the ones near your site.
Manufacturers' private shows
Private shows at manufacturers' own facilities let you examine machines at length and consult individually in a calmer setting. Dates are announced on each manufacturer's website.
Touring a Show Systematically
Large shows have vast floors and enormous exhibitor lists; efficient use of limited time depends on planning.
Simply deciding "which maker, which machine, which questions" in advance greatly improves what you learn.
If a CNC automatic lathe is on your list, pick several makers of the type you are interested in (Swiss-type, fixed-headstock), bring your part drawings and ask concrete questions.
Comfortable shoes, business cards and a phone or tablet for notes complete the preparation.
